Hello everyone, and welcome to my blog! I am in my late 20s and am an amateur dressage rider. I am no professional and never will be, I just enjoy my horses and enjoy every aspect of having them (except perhaps the 5.15am alarms!). I do not fit the 'typical' dressage rider mould, and struggle with my confidence. However the horses make things fun and although I seem to be constantly tired it is very satisfying at the end of a long day. I am lucky enough to rent a small yard with two stables, paddocks and a school. My two horses are Miss Congeniality II ("Genie"), a 10 year old 15hh Welsh Section D bay mare, and Cathael Fanfare ("Pondy"), an 11 year old 15.2hh Welsh Section D chestnut mare. My first horse was not purchased until I left University, when I bought Mascarita ("Mazzie"), a polo pony. Unfortunately I lost her a year later but Genie came into my life. We started out in the showing world where she achieved everything she ever could alongside low level riding club, before turning to dressage with the help of an excellent trainer. The 'day job' is a self employed singing and flute teacher which is always varied and I do not think I would want to have horses as my work as well as my hobby. They are my down time and chance to relax and even grouchy Genie can put a smile on my face at the end of a 12 hour day. I am really looking forward to working Redwolf Equestrian! I aim to post an update on here once a week, but more regular 'bitesize' updates are available on my Facebook Page Fiona Hunt Dressage. Miss Congeniality II ("Genie") Cathael Fanfare ("Pondy")
